Cyber criminals seek to exploit human or security vulnerabilities, in order to steal passwords, data or money directly. The most common cyber threats include hacking – including of social media and email passwords, and phishing – the use of bogus emails, asking for security information and personal details.
Any device that attaches to the internet can be used by fraudsters to target us, be it through emails we receive asking for our personal details, websites that we visit to make purchases and social media messages offering investment opportunities.
